The Vanishing Rock

An Unexplained Report
The mouse’s sighting
Mouse notices what seems to be an extraordinary rock beside Elmer’s knapsack, then finds that it has disappeared.
Suspicion begins
The report gives the animals a puzzling clue without identifying the human visitor. Elmer’s concealment makes ordinary movements appear uncanny.
The Tangerine Evidence

Signs of an Intruder
The boars investigate
Wild Boars connect fresh Tangerines peels near the Ocean Rocks with Mouse’s unusual sighting. They argue over whether the evidence proves an invasion.
A comic uncertainty
Their deductions are partly perceptive and partly mistaken. The gap between evidence and certainty sets the pursuit in motion.
The Tiger Encounter

A Perceived Trespass
The confrontation
Seven Tigers surround Elmer in a clearing and announce that he is trespassing. Hungry and confident, they threaten to eat him.
The first diversion
Elmer offers Chewing gum and invents a way to grow more. Their fascination gives him the first escape from the island’s danger.
The Pursuit Connects

A Trail of Distractions
Growing suspicion
Wild Boars find the animals busy with Elmer’s gifts: the Tigers chew, Rhinoceros brushes his tusk, and Lion grooms his mane.
The chase intensifies
Instead of understanding the separate encounters, the boars see a coordinated invasion. Their alarm gathers the animals into a growing threat.
The Riverbank Stampede

The Pursuers Arrive
Collective alarm
Wild Boars lead a crowd of furious animals toward the bank, convinced that an invader is after Baby Dragon.
Reversal
The Crocodiles swim away with the pursuers still aboard, their Pink lollipops distracting them from the chase. The mob’s force dissolves into an absurd river procession.
